This is an immersive, participatory expedition through Botswanaβs most iconic wilderness areas. It is designed to showcase the dramatic transition between water-based and land-based ecosystems.
Day 1: Arrival in Maun & Transfer to Moremi/Khwai
Arrive at Maun Airportand transfer to your camp or lodge in the Moremi/Khwai region.Settle in and embark on your first afternoon game drive in an open-sided 4x4 vehicle. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the wilderness, often with wildlife roaming nearby.
Day 2: Exploring Moremi Game Reserve
Full day of morning and afternoon game drives within the Moremi Game Reserve, known for its diverse ecosystems and high concentration of animals, including the Big Five and African wild dogs.Return to camp for brunch, an afternoon siesta, and dinner.
Day 3: Mokoro Experience & Khwai Activities
Experience a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) trip, guided by an expert local guide through the serene waterways of the Khwai River, offering a unique perspective for viewing aquatic species and birds.
After lunch, you may have the option of a guided walking safari or a night drive to spot nocturnal animals like civets and porcupines, an activity unique to concession areas like Khwai.
Day 4: Travel to Savuti , Chobe National Park
After breakfast, you will pack up and transfer by road or a scenic light aircraft flight to the Savuti region of Chobe National Park. The journey itself is a game drive, taking approximately 5 hours by road. Arrive at your next camp in the late afternoon and enjoy an evening game drive.
Day 5: Savuti Game Drives
Spend a full day exploring the Savuti area on morning and afternoon game drives. The region is renowned for its large resident lion prides and spotted hyena populations. Enjoy meals and camp stories around the fire pit in the evening.
Day 6: Transfer to Chobe Riverfront
After a morning game drive, you will head towards the Chobe Riverfrontand adjacent floodplains, a completely different ecosystem.Settle into your final camp and enjoy an afternoon game drive along the river, known for massive herds of elephants and buffalo.
Day 7: Chobe River Activities
Start your day with a morning game drive along the waterfront. In the afternoon, embark on a three-hour boat cruise on the Chobe River, a highlight for bird lovers and an excellent way to see animals from the water.Enjoy a final dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Departure from Kasane
After a final breakfast, depart for Kasane Airportfor your onward travel, or arrange an extension to nearby Victoria Falls
