This 6-day safari itinerary starts in Maun and traverses the seasonal lushness of the Nxai Pan before returning through a relaxing gateway camp to the heart of the Okavango Delta.
Days 1β2: Nxai Pan National Park The journey begins with a drive east from Maun to Nxai Pan National Park. In early 2026, the pans are in their "green season," offering some of Botswana's best summer wildlife viewing.
The drive from Maun to the park entrance takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours (185 km) via the A3. Camping: Stay at Nxai Pan South Camp, which offers shaded sites and basic ablutions.
Zebra Migration: Witness thousands of zebras that congregate here during the summer rains.
Bainesβ Baobabs: Visit the iconic cluster of seven ancient baobabs, documented in the 1860s and still standing virtually unchanged.
Predator Action: The open pans are ideal for spotting cheetahs and lions hunting the large herds of springbok and impala.
Day 3: Raintree Camp (Shorobe) Head back toward Maun, stopping just outside the village of Shorobe for a transition night.

Camping: Raintree Camp is located in Shorobe , approximately 30 minutes north of Maun. It features shady sites under a forest of rain trees, a swimming pool, and the Rusty Shack bar.
Days 4β5: Okavango Delta Camping From Shorobe , depart for a two-night immersion in the
Okavango Delta, the worldβs largest inland delta.
Bush Walks: Explore remote delta islands on foot with your guide to track wildlife.
Waterways: Navigate narrow, crystal-clear channels lined with papyrus.
Camping: Wild camping on a delta island, typically including meals prepared by a chef over a campfire.
Day 6: Return to Maun Enjoy a final morning bush walk or a sunrise mokoro session before heading back to civilization.
